James T Cheetham III, 84 of Smithfield (formerly of Cumberland) passed away peacefully on May 9, 2020. Though born in Central Falls, he resided in Pawtucket for a good portion of his life before moving to Cumberland. He was retired from the Rhode Island Renal Institue.
He was the son of the late James T Cheetham, Jr and Mary (Mae) A. Cheetham (Hurley).
He was a 1954 graduate of Lasalle Academy and was a veteran of the USMC. He was very proud to have served his country.
James enjoyed spending time with his family, Harley Davidson's, Hot-Rod Cars, the New England Patriots. He especially enjoyed his walks.
He was the loving father to his daughter, Elizabeth Cabana, and her husband Jason of North Providence and his son David Cheetham of Pawtucket.
The loving brother of two sisters, Claire Keijzo and her late husband Vincent of Waltham, Ma and Linda Olobri, and her husband Richard of Lincoln.
Lastly, a loving "Grampy" to his grandson, Collin Cabana.
James will be laid to rest at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Exeter with military honors.
